CONFIRMATION

The apostolic laying-on-of-hands is conducted on a date arranged by the Rector in consultation with the Bishop. Each year, the Rector or Assistant Curate may conduct classes for young people and adults desiring to be confirmed. The classes for each parish are combined. Please consult with the Rector on the appropriate age for Confirmation.

Those already confirmed by a Bishop in the apostolic succession – including individuals confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church, the Lutheran Church or chrismated in the Eastern Orthodox Church – are not confirmed again but should be formally received into the Anglican Church by the Bishop during the Confirmation service.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

We are happy to be praying for people who need physical or emotional healing. If you would like to have prayer for healing, please contact us. We also host days of prayer for these needs.

If you are taken into hospital or are otherwise seriously ill or injured and wish for prayers, please ensure the Minister is notified immediately . When a parishioner is near death, the priest should be notified immediately. Calls for these purposes can and should be made at any time of the day or night.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, also known as Holy Unction, is available by appointment or upon request.

CONFESSION

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available by appointment or upon request. The traditional Anglican rule concerning confession is “All may; some should; none must.” If any serious sin is bothering your conscience, you are encouraged to make your confession to a priest and receive absolution before receiving Holy Eucharist. Some Anglicans find the discipline of regular confession an immense comfort and aid to spiritual growth. The seasons of Advent and Lent are often good times to consider the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Please consult  the priest for guidance on how to prepare for and make your confession.
